​Diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at just 2 years old, my parents were told I wouldn’t live past 10. But limits have never defined me—grit has. I am an author, and have been a personal trainer & nutrition counselor for over 25 years.

At 32, after undergoing a life-saving double lung transplant, I was in the ICU and made my surgeon a bold promise: “Give me a year, and we’ll cross the finish line at the New York City Marathon—together.”

 

Less than 12 months later, against all odds, we did exactly that. In 2019, after battling end stage kidney disease brought on by the same medications that protected my new lungs, I underwent a kidney transplant. Because when you're a CF Warrior, impossible is just the starting line.
